Hello, dear friends! Thank you for being with me today. I hope you are staying warm and are not too overwhelmed already by the holiday hustle and bustle that is near! I wish you peace and happiness this season.
I hope you have a moment to yourself. A moment to breathe and reflect on all the good things in your life. A moment to see the beauty in your life, within yourself.
How many things go unnoticed by us, things that are enriching our lives? Things that we should express gratitude for and don’t?
That is one thing that slowing down will do for you. Give you the room to observe all that you have. Gratefulness for life’s gifts is one sign, to me, of an awakened heart. I will share with you what I have experienced lately. Having stepped out of teaching to write has been a major life change for me. I have time to think, meditate, access my feelings. Not that I didn’t do that before, but it is different when I am trying to summon words on a page. I want to write about something personal, you see, and it is harder than I want it to be.
I want to write about having Turners Syndrome. It is a chromosome disorder that I have. I won’t explore it here, but suffice it to say it has given me a life experience that has given my life purpose and insight. Google it if you want info. Basically, in trying to write about this I have seen how life gives us exactly what we need to grow and be our best self. All the time. It is amazing that we each experience what we need, that life is so intimately giving to each one of us. This leads me to gratitude. I know thanksgiving and thankfulness will be on our minds this next week. Would you share what you are grateful for? I think sharing is inspiring and unifying, that it builds connections rather than supporting division, which our world does not need. So, here is a brief list from me. I would love to hear your thoughts! Happy Thanksgiving!
I am grateful for :
Life. It is precious and sacred.
Family. The essence of love, expressed.
Friends. They bless and inspire, comfort and fill our lives with meaning.
Faith. I do not know where I would be without it.
Beauty. In art and life, in people and nature. You know the quote about truth and beauty? Yeah. I see that.
Being able to bring your life to one of purpose and fulfillment.
This is only a small sample. I am thankful for food, shelter, the sights and smells of home and my pets. For silence. For laughter. Many more things, too. I am thankful for support. I feel encouraged by the thought of readers reading the musings of my heart. I am thankful for you, that you read this today. Thank you!
